Photographer and filmmaker Samar Jodha brings over 20 years of experience to the field of visual communication. In 2003 when Burj project was announced, Samar conceptualized documenting the making of the tallest tower in the world. His process was to create a visual library both on still and moving media. This 6-year exercise included working very closely with dozens of teams in the project offices and the developer of the tower. He along with his team at Spectra Maxima set up half a dozen cameras to shoot various time-lapse films of the tower going up at final height of 164-story - 2,717 feet. Aerial shoots at every 4 weeks to dozens of specialized documentaries including shoots of cladding testing in China, to providing visuals for Skyscraper Museum in Manhattan on the Burj exhibition. This work has been widely shown on National Geo and shows such as Mega builders. Some of the films and stills can also be seen on the observatory deck of the Burj Khalifa and on the tower’s website www.burjkhalifa.com.
